POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a Mid to Senior Electrical Engineer to work in our Facilities Electrical Group in our Hilo, Hawaii location. In this role, you will work as part of a multi-discipline engineering team leading and executing the electrical components of federal and industrial projects. Position will entail creating and issuing construction drawings and specifications, studies and reports, as well as, being able to demonstrate good working design knowledge of grounding, lightning protection, surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, prime and standby generation, low and medium voltage motor control centers, low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage substations, and UPS systems. Applicant must have excellent knowledge and experience with the NEC, NFPA documents, ICC documents, UFC documents, energy codes, and applicable IEEE standards. Experience with modeling electrical systems and running power system studies using ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower is strongly preferred. Strong team leadership, mentoring, excellent communication skills, presentation skills, motivation, positive attitude, and ability to work on multiple projects concurrently will be core roles for this person. The applicant will interface directly with internal and external clients and will demonstrate a proven ability to drive projects to successful completion within budget and schedule constraints. An understanding of how relationships with clients on the Hawaiian Islands differ from client relationships on the US mainland is critical to this position. This position will be responsible for maintaining current long term client relationships as well as seeking out and developing relationships with new clients on the Hawaiian Islands, the US Mainland, and abroad. Some travel will be required.
